Peace Valley Sanctuary — How Staff Opt In to Work Texts

Who: only Peace Valley Sanctuary employees and contracted on-site staff. The program does not text guests or the public.

How consent is collected (verbal, in person): when a staff member starts work, or when the program is introduced, the owner explains the program and asks for consent using this script:

"Peace Valley will text you a daily task list each morning and urgent property alerts (like smoke, freeze or a power loss) from our number 877-326-7543. That's usually 1 to 3 texts a day. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to stop them, or HELP for help. Is it OK for us to text you at this number?"

Only after the staff member says yes does the owner add their number to the alert system by hand. The owner records the date of consent. No number is added without consent, and numbers are never collected from forms, lists or third parties.

First message: the first text each staff member receives confirms the program and how to stop it:

"Peace Valley Staff Alerts: you'll get a daily task list and urgent property alerts, about 1-3 msgs/day. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop, HELP for help."

Opting out: replying STOP stops all messages immediately. The number is removed and not re-added unless the staff member asks again.
